Practicing gratitude means looking at your life amd what is happening from afar. You must not get caught up in the small (bad) things. By looking at your life from the outside you can be grateful for what you've got, for what you've done and for your life in general. You won't be sad about the things that bring you down if you focus on the things that make you feel blessed. So you should start thinking about those good things in your life.
