How do I be grateful to someone who is not grateful?

Fabulous CoachBehavioral Science AssistantRecommended AnswerAI Summary

Being grateful to someone who may not express gratitude can be challenging, but it’s a powerful practice. Focus on the positive aspects of your relationship and acknowledge the efforts they make, no matter how small. Consider writing a thank-you note or expressing appreciation verbally. This can cultivate a sense of gratitude in yourself and may inspire them to reciprocate. Remember, gratitude is about your mindset and can help build meaningful connections and lasting healthy habits in your daily life.

B R Nice O.

I try to focus on what I’m getting from being grateful. And it is completely not about giving something to the other person that they deserve or doing something good to them. But about me choosing peace and calm, feeling of goodness and joy of life for myself when I do it. I can still be reserved in expressing my thoughts to the person who doesn’t behave nice, and draw my boundary to limit their presence in my life, but I will for myself find what I am grateful for, even if it is just a lesson I will learn from that person.
