How can we both be grateful for what we have AND move forward? Sometimes I feel like gratitude has almost lead to complacency for me
It’s possible to be grateful for what you have while still striving for more. Gratitude can serve as a foundation for growth rather than complacency. To balance these feelings, try setting specific goals that excite you and incorporate gratitude rituals into your daily routine. For example, each morning, reflect on what you’re thankful for and then outline one actionable step towards your goals. This way, gratitude fuels your motivation to move forward, creating a harmonious relationship between appreciation and ambition.
Gratitude makes you deeply reflect on what you have on your journey of progress! What if you hadn’t had the tools you got! What if you haven’t had the supportive family you got! The nice place to have a walk! The coffee you crave to start your morning! It’s all tools to push us forward to growth.
Show them what your grateful for and explain why, explain how gratitude has helped in your own life and how it changes the way you look at things, remind them of what they have to be grateful for, ask how being grateful could help then get more of what they’re looking for so they can think of new ways to go about things
I think you might’ve only learned to move forward through dissatisfaction. You can find inspiration in gratefulness. Like if you’re grateful for what someone did for you. You can aim to do the same.
