With ADHD how do you get out of decision paralysis to start cleaning and decide on what to start cleaning?

There are small and big steps that help ensure the space gets organized. Small steps like setting a reminder and choosing one specific spot are important. Big steps like accepting that all of the mess was not cleaned, or letting go of excuses and accepting that both alternatives are a challenge is also important. The alternatives being cleaning now or cleaning later.

I pick up a cleaning tool and then make my way from one thing to the next, whatever my eye catches in the moment. Once I start, it gets easier to continue with the other things.

Unfortunately I don’t have a concrete plan, but one thing I try to do to help myself focus on cleaning is to tell myself out loud, over and over, the directive to do so. Having someone tell me what to do seems to help, but if you don’t have anyone, you’ll be forced to do it yourself.
