What morning stretches do you guys do to wake your muscles up? I’m looking for a bit of a challenge

Depends on what muscles are feeling tight or sensitive for you that morning! For me, I usually do a few Sun Salutations. That’s a good way to get all your main muscle groups, especially if you add Lunge, Triangle, Warrior, or Tree poses. I also like Butterfly pose: sit with the soles of your feet together and lean forward to touch the floor in front of you if you want a challenging lower back stretch. Thread the Needle is also great for your shoulders. I love the Youtube channel ‘Yoga with Adrianne’ for when I’m looking for a more structured or targeted practice. Her videos are suitable for all levels and come in a variety of lengths. Hope this helps and happy stretching!

Downward dog, pigeon pose, leg window wipers (dunno what they’re called but you sit the ground with your feet flat on the ground about shoulder width apart, and let them fall to the right side on the ground, back up again then to the other side; window wipers), frog pose with elevated heel then switch to flat heel, good for calves and achilles)

Full body stretch! Head rolls then arm and rust circles. Forward bend then a lunge. after I touch my toes and then do the same thing on the other side! After both sides I do a cobra stretch to stretch out my back! The last step is stretching my hip flexors and rolling my ankles! This stretch is great for me!!

Every morning I sit in a butterfly stretch on my bed or floor and do neck circles clockwise for 10 seconds then i switch to counterclockwise for another 10 seconds. After that I do shoulder rolls for 10 seconds I then stretch my legs in a butterfly stretch for 20 seconds. Lastly, I do a plank for two minutes, but if you’re just starting out, I suggest doing 30 seconds first and working yourself up. Hope this helps!

Personally I start from something light like stretching my arms and moving them around, moving my neck, and getting my whole body to wake up after sleeping. After that I start with something more serious like toe touch, runner’s touch, side reach. Lately I’ve been trying to do splits too and back exercises.
