It’s easier to answer by saying what isn’t healthy foods: foods with a lot of added sugar ( read your labels!). Also, remember that sugar in any form is still sugar, that includes agave and honey. If you want sweet, stick to fruit or use sugar substitutes like equal ( which has been well studied for safety) or Stevia. Highly processed foods are always unhealthy no matter what the label says. Marketers use words like " organic" , " natural" , or " gluten free " to dupe consumers into believing highly processed foods are healthy. They are not. Healthy foods are usually those that are closest to their natural form, like fruits, vegetables, meat, beans and rice. Yogurt, cheese, milk, and bread ( NOT white bread) are also good options in moderation. Same with pasta: as long as it’s eaten in moderation it can be part of a healthy diet.
