Bad days are the worst. Especially if you don’t know why you’re in a bitter mood. This happens to me more often than I’d like, but I think I’ve learnt how to trick my brain better than I did a few years ago.
Now when I know that I’m upset:
1. I first try to see if there’s a reason for why I am upset and what that reason is.
2. Once I know what that reason is, I sit on it for a bit and see if there’s something I can do to fix it. (This works especially if I’m overthinking something.)
3.If I know what’s upsetting me, I try to sleep it off – (it works best). Have some food, the nutritious the better and listen to some good music. I also like distracting myself with some feel good shows or I talk to a friend.

I usually try to do meditation and pray to make any bad day of mine turn around. I like to put myself first and focus on my health mentally and physically, I block anything that can gain me negativity or try to turn my good days to bad days.

I realize that there is literally no rule that states that a bad day SHOULD remain a bad day. You can realize it is never too late to turn your day around by starting an activity that brings you joy. Even if you are still annoyed or upset while meditating, at least you meditated! That is something to celebrate and give yourself a pat on the back for. Good luck!

I have a list of things that make me happy (reading, listening to a specific playlist, one particular podcast, walking outside, calling my auntie) as my “ugh day” list.
I try with one of those first, assess where I’m at mentally and try something else on the list if I’m still in a definite funk.
Once I’m even 5% out of a funk, I’ll try to think of a different activity. If it takes more than 15 mins to think of something, it’s back to the list for me.
