I do 'sit-and-reach' on a daily basis to stretch my back. I also do 'cat', 'twists', forward folds', 'head-to-knee', and 'revolved head-to-knee' sometimes. I believe these are good for lower back.

i'd suggest putting your palms next to one another like you're praying and your arms horizontally straight. after that, start raising your arms with your palms still the same and push them up slowly till you stretch your back out.
