Actually, physical exercise will make your muscles relax and help ease the cramps. I have some bad cramps that literally leaves me hunched over on the floor if I don’t take painkillers. But exercise do help. So I would say, take some painkillers and get moving and you will end up feeling better! (If you have cramps so painful that nonprescription painkillers doesn’t work, that can possibly be a symptom of something not being quite right and you should have that checked out) I completely understand though, if one might not feel up for it during those days of the month.

I know every woman is different but exercising helps with my cramps. Try stretching and yoga.

I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, so my periods can get extremely painful. I find that exercise makes me feel way better; it’s a way to release the pain. I do low intensity workouts or resistance training with light weights. If I’m willing to push myself, I do a 7 minute ab routine. I find that the burn from the workout distracts me from the pain of my cramps!!

I will go easy on myself and either skip it or make it easier

What I would do is if I do intense workouts I will just do small workouts or just use yoga

I found the pain is eased by heat, both packs and topical rubs on the lower abdomen back and thighs. Also loads of minerals, the liquid is better and a NSAI medication

It is hard. I suffer too. Warm baths, hot water bottle , bit of TLC and lighten the exercise. Any is better than none. It’s ok to look after you a little bit more when u need it.

Its ok to skip it, if you
exercise more than you can you will get worse cramps, but excercising when you have your period is not bad either

I go for a walk. Walking still counts as exercise and I find that it also helps with my period pain
