Is rice acceptable as a healthy breakfast?? I live in Indonesia and in our culture rice is the main food.

I think it’s okay as long as there is protein included with it! And the rice is the smaller portion.

Yes, rice is a good source of vitamins and carbohydrates, if you eat it with some nuts and vegetables it’s a good breakfast!

I would say rice by itself it’s not very nutritious and it offers mainly carbs. It could be great for breakfast if you mix it with some greens and/or vegetables and a source of protein

Rice in an acceptable breakfast because it is very nutritious but it would be a better breakfast if a protein can be added to it. If tnst is not possible,then it is ok to eat the rice without protien.

Absolutely. Rice and other grains are a good source of energy. Try have brown rice if you can, but if not it’s ok. You need to be careful of sugar etc in the breakfasts, the idea is to avoid simple sugars and instead eat healthy fresh food. Porridge, rice, fresh fruits are all good, coco pops , muffins, and sugary cereals are bad.

I ate rice this morning as well. But whenever I have to eat rice I ensure that it’s a very small portion and I use egg as my protein.

Personally, I think it depends on the type of rice. If it’s white then it’s not the healthiest option. It’s certainly healthier than a croissant, but I think that whole grain rice is the best option if you want to eat rice at breakfast.

I would say that it is ,as you say in Indonesia rice is a staple and it is a healthy food ,the key is to not restrict yourself from anything have everything but in moderation

I think yes because it have zinc which is useful for skin and bones and hair I’m from Egypt and rice with milk is a good breakfast

Oh Indonesia is such a fantastic place! Yes rice is completely fine, try to add some egg or maybe leftover meat from dinner, like fish, chicken or beef! I like my breakfast sweet so I would add fruits, nuts and some cinnamon sugar 😉
