Cold: this let’s you ease into your morning and wakefulness, and kickstarts your metabolism by needing to heat the food itself. Plus, most cold food items are less processed than warm ones, bringing both an easier start to your metabolism as well as a potentially more nutritious benefit from the meal (vegetables lose nutrients in the cooking process, for example, and ultra-processed foods – like from bread – are harder on the body to breakdown, which is why infants can’t have them for the first 9-12months).
