I’m trying to exercise in the morning but honestly between meditating and the morning routine, I’m having a hard time getting it in. This is especially true when I don’t sleep well the night before. Suggestions?
It’s great that you’re prioritizing exercise in the morning! When sleep is a challenge, consider simplifying your routine. Try shorter, more focused workouts or incorporate light stretching or yoga to ease into your day. You can also experiment with meditating after your workout to help you feel more energized. Remember, consistency is key, so aim for a routine that feels sustainable and enjoyable, even on tougher mornings. Small adjustments can lead to lasting healthy habits.
If you can’t change things to the PM look for ways to 1. Improve sleep (see a GP or get a sleep study) or 2. Treat the morning like a business, how can you simplify and make things more efficient for example prepping things in advance like your clothes or breakfast.
I have been able to do it planning my day ahead. My rule of thumb is being in bed not later than 10:00pm. With relaxation exercises in bed before going to sleep, I naturally wake up in 6 hours. Then I can squeeze and hour in the gym before work.
