First, you need to consider your diet. To increase the visibility of your abdominals, you need to be eating very clean AND in a calorie deficit. This will help burn the fat that covers them. You also need to be doing core focused exercises. Not just lying on your back ab exercises. Try walking with two medium weights in each hand, this will load the core and work on balance as well.
