I have such a hard time fitting exercise in to my scheduled. I usually keep up for short periods but don’t follow through to the point that I see any results or improvements. Any advice on how to stick to it?
It’s common to struggle with fitting exercise into a busy schedule. Start by identifying short, manageable time slots for physical activity, even if it’s just 10-15 minutes a day. Create a routine by stacking exercise with existing habits, like doing a quick workout after your morning coffee. Consistency is key, so focus on building a habit rather than immediate results. Celebrate small victories to stay motivated, and remember that lasting change takes time. Stick with it, and you’ll see improvements!
Something that changed my perspective is that anything thats worth doing well is worth doing poorly. Its better to be consistent and do 1% than try to do 90-100% everyday, because you’re likely to lose motivation or energy to do that. So I try to do intentional activity for just 5 minutes. I set a timer and I do squats, crunches, push ups, plank--just whatever I feel like doing but I have to do something active for the whole 5 minutes. In the future, I plan to do more, but right now, this is what’s realistic for my schedule.
For me, I try to keep it small and actionable like taking a 30 min walk. Then I add to that commitment sometimes but always follow through on the baseline at least a few times a week. I hope you reach your goal friend
