I personally keep a cardboard box and use it to store clothing I haven’t used for a year or that are defective [torn ripped etc] and donate them when I have a chance, if the clothes are nice you can also sell them at a local market
It’s always good to let everything have it’s place, so if it’s somewhere it doesn’t belong you know where to put it back. For reducing you’re belongings it works best to take a box and put all your clothes in it. Now if you want to wear those clothes, take them out of the box, wear them, wash them and put them back in your closet. After a month or so the things left in the box are the things you don’t need.
