How to get started and keep at it

Zane O.
The key to getting started — and to staying consistent — is finding your motive and using it as fuel.

A lot of people have ambitions. They want to change. They want to be better. They want to become someone they’re proud of.

But wanting isn’t enough.

The real question is:

Why do I want to change?
Why do I need to change?

When you don’t know your reason, it’s easy to quit. It’s easy to lose discipline. It’s easy to stop showing up.

Your motive is what gives your actions meaning. It’s what reminds you why you started in the first place.

And here’s the truth: motivation won’t show up every day. Some days you won’t feel like doing the work. That’s when you come back to your motive. That’s when you remind yourself why this matters to you.

It took me a while to find mine. It wasn’t easy. But once I did, everything changed.

So if you want to start — find your reason.
If you want to keep going — hold onto it.

Your motive is your fuel. Use it.

First of all, you have to be disciplined. Discipline over motivation. Your motivation can be usually low or none, so the most important thing is to be determined to do what you planned, even if it doesn’t make sense all the time. It is a part of realization of your biggest goal. Just think that you have tot do this always, no matter the circumstances.
