How many times a week should I do cardio exercises if my BMI is normal?
For individuals with a normal BMI, aiming for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio exercise per week is recommended, which translates to about 3-5 sessions. It’s important to listen to your body and choose activities you enjoy to create meaningful daily rituals. Consistency is key in developing lasting healthy habits, so find a routine that fits your lifestyle and helps you achieve your fitness goals.
Moving the body is something we should do everyday whether it’s walking, stretching, yoga, or jumping on an exercise equipment for 15mins. Listen to your body and be gentle with yourself always. If you are creating a habit, it’s suggested to start small goals and see how you body responds and adjust as you grow stronger. As a beginner I started with cardio 2xs a week on an elliptical. Once it grew warmer I rode my bike 6 - 10mi 3 times a week first thing in the morning to feel the wonderful endorphins. Tap into your inner child’s joy of fun and create a routine that works best for your goals or just to fill healthier.
