How do you motivate yourself to get up early in the morning to exercise? I walk everyday, but it’s so hard to go beyond that!

Walking IS a form of exercise!! Use that habit and move it to your morning time if you can. If you feel the need or want to do more or push harder, try doing a few squats and wall push ups before or after walking. A mile a day is better than sitting around and rotting. You don’t have to go ‘full hulk’ to workout. Keep it simple! Use your walk as a warm up and when you get back inside, do a 10-15 minute workout at home!
Get a gallon of water and use that as your weight if you don’t have any, invest in resistant bands, some come as cheap as $3…nothing expensive. Movement is the goal. Period. You have the motivation if you’re already walking/moving, you just need to spice it up!

Walking is great! If that’s what you enjoy and find time for maybe that’s enough exercise for you. But we find the time to do things we truly want. Lay out everything the night before so when you wake up you can get started before your brain has time to realize you’re exercising and argue against it! And start *small* — it’s a lot easier to tell yourself you’re only going to get up a little early and do a seven-minute workout than “we’re starting a whole body makeover tomorrow at 5 am!”
