How do you make the time to exercise?

Erica Y.
Like anything in life, if I want to do it, it must be on my schedule and I stick to it. It goes on all calendars, cell phones, and white board reminder for my family. It is my “me time” to rejuvenate and be happy.
However, or whenever I can squeeze it in whether it be early morning, afternoon or evening, prioritizing time to be healthy is a must. I had to release the thought I was being selfish if I wasn’t taking care of everyone’s needs first. Now, I take care of me first, so that I can take care of the rest.
What made it easier for me, was choosing activities and/classes that I love first, swimming, biking, yoga, dance and walking. Then I found an aquatic center & gym that provides all those activities and more, then I committed. I found the Fabulous app to assist with creating good habits, got a Fitbit to keep track and I was off.
I solidified my schedule by enrolling my son in a Hydro Fit class every Sunday which ensured I had to go no matter what. I have my hubby drive us there and bring the dog so they both get in some walking exercise while I swim and my son takes his class (2 hours). I made it a family affair without even realizing it and we all love it.
I encourage you to set your schedule that includes creating time for your health too. Tips that help me, squeezing in movement throughout the day. Taking stairs instead of escalators or elevators, a power walk at lunch, walking to the train station instead of taking the bus or multiple trains, taking my dog for a walk, my favorite dancing and singing while cooking or cleaning. I hope this helps. Good Health to you!

You don’t make time, you find it. It could be between making dinner and doing the washing do anything you can, it’s better than nothing
