When I wake up is when I feel the most refreshed. Now, mind you, sometimes I’m tired and don’t want to do anything but lie there. So, I give myself an hour before I start moving around. Caffeine, then take care of my body, like shower, face mask, or etc. Those things that show yourself a little love and kindness tend to amplify your mood, which puts you in a better mind space to exercise. After I get on with my routine, and I feel clean and awake, I’ll say a few affirmations, think about what I’m grateful for and start some physical things, stretching and working out. If I feel like pushing myself, I will. But if I still don’t feel like doing it, I’ll only do a little bit of exercise. You just need to gradually move yourself in the right direction. It doesn’t have to be complicated, but you need some type of routine and it’s perfectly fine if it’s an easy one most days. Just try not to skip out on it, even if it’s just for 1 minute, do a little. That will keep you moving in the right direction.

I am an introvert, but work in a field where I am always customer facing and need to be “on”. Knowing that I will need to put extra effort and energy into being on all day for work, I know I need to carve out me time before getting into it. I know that if I don’t set that time aside for myself, I will not be performing at the top of my game because I will feel off. I deserve to give to myself and not just always to give to others. I always remind myself that I cannot give to others from an empty well.
