id say always be open to talking to the other person about their mess. I always clean up after myself and my boyfriend if he’s had a long day, but if i’ve had a long day and he doesn’t help me out I always ask him why not, and usually he’s willing to go ahead and clean up the space a bit. just communicate your needs and hopefully that’ll get the point across
