How do I motivate myself to exercise more regularly?
To motivate yourself to exercise more regularly, start by setting clear, achievable goals that resonate with your personal values. Create a daily ritual by scheduling your workouts at the same time each day, making it a non-negotiable part of your routine. Consider finding a workout buddy for accountability and support. Remember to celebrate small victories to keep your motivation high. Lastly, focus on the positive feelings and energy that come from regular exercise, reinforcing the habit over time.
For the longest time, I would "motivate" myself to exercise by coming up with a month-long detailed plan involving various different types of exercises to target all the areas of my body. However, each month I just ended up not doing them at all. It was too much, all at once, and would just overwhelm me. After I downloaded the Fabulous app, I learned to start small. I naturally am a bit of an impatient person, so it was hard feeling like it was worth celebrating anything when I would simply do a 5 minute basic workout in my room using one of the guided exercises available in the Fabulous app. But this app’s formula does work if you commit to it - building small habits ends up motivating you more. The same way I place a glass of water besides me at bedtime to remind me to drink it in the morning, the same way I roll out my yoga mat at bedtime so it feels like second-nature to do the exercise component in the morning Fabulous routine. It doesn’t have to be very intensive when you are starting out! Even 5 minutes to help you get into the routine is worthy :)
