How can I stop surfaces becoming cluttered, it seems to materialise on its own πŸ˜†

Try to set a time during the day (best to do at night) when you get a timer and put on some good music. Get a calming one on if you do this at night before your night routine or before going to sleep . Then you clean the surfaces, put away your things and tidy up your place. Believe me, putting away clutter before going to sleep helps your mind to rest too. Also in Fabulous can add your tidy up habit in your night routine. Good luckβœ¨οΈπŸ«‚

Don’t put it down, put it away. Repeat this constantly until you form a habit. Also if you take the time to put away 1 thing a day that’s 365 things!

Try to have a home for each item that it belongs – in a drawer or cupboard and return them after use. For new items create a new home early after purchase. Create a basket for keys and other regular use daily items near door. If you have the space keep everything in cupboards rather than bench tops unless it’s used multiple times a day. Regularly cull items from drawers and wardrobes that become overflowing and donate excess or unused items.

I try to identify the source of cluster and create an alternative as close as possible. If I’m leaving clothes on the floor, I put a basket on the same place. If I’m leaving crafts/hobbie items, I leave a basket close by.

I need to make sure that things are returned to their spot or if new, I find a place for them. It’s also important to get rid of item that no longer serve a purpose or bring any joy. It’s easier to put things away when you’re done with them than to clean a mess that has accumulated over time.
