Do you have tips for preventing work from derailing my intentions to exercise (eg working late to get something urgent done)

If possible just exercise before doing that if you know it might prevent you from exercising, it doesn’t work all the time but serves most of the time

In this specific instance (working late unplanned), my advice would be to wake up earlier and exercise before work. I know that can feel really daunting. Choose a day to try it. Just once. Then choose to try it again the next day. If you don’t like the way that feels, there are more options. Stretching or lifting something heavy in 2 minute intervals (you can squeeze in two minutes anywhere). Exercising before bed. Seated exercises at work would be another good option. Try all of these and see what fits your body best!
