If you experience stomach problems in the morning, it’s important to listen to your body. Start with gentle foods like oatmeal or smoothies that are easy to digest. Consider smaller portions and gradually introduce more variety. Staying hydrated can also help. Establish a morning routine that includes mindful eating, allowing you to focus on how different foods affect your stomach. Remember, consistency is key; aim to create a breakfast ritual that supports your health and sets a positive tone for the day.

It took a long time for me to start eating breakfast and more importantly, what I *could* eat. I have IBS, so my stomach doesn’t like being awakened suddenly. I have to drink a little of something warm (even just water), and do other things first. Then I eat, and even though I’m always running late I sit down and eat mindfully. How you eat is as important as what you eat. Chew and swallow a mouthful before shoveling more into your mouth. If that means eating less, well, it’s better than not eating at all, or worse, rushing through it just to have a stomach ache after. I tried different foods before finding something I could handle. For me it’s a hard-boiled egg and peanut butter toast. But you’ll have to try and find what works for you.
