At the weekend I tend to get up at around 10am but have brunch later. Does a weekend brunch count as a great breakfast since it’s usually eaten later than a weekday breakfast? Or would I need to eat something earlier to give my system some energy to start the day with? Basically, what is it that counts more, the meal time (when we get up) or the quality and amount (hearty protein-based)?

I think the quality of the food matters more than when u eat it. So I would say that a weekend brunch is good but im not an expert. But i think that quality matters more than when.

Ultimately I think mindful eating is important. Also if you’re planning on eating brunch later and you are looking forward to it I’d say it counts as a great breakfast and also just a fun thing to do. I think doing what you want and what feels right is more important for your specific Saturday plans instead of stressing about specific timing for “breakfast.” That’s my two cents though. My great breakfast is usually pretty late since I’m not usually hungry until around 11:00. The addition on the morning routine list helps me follow through since I have a history of skipping meals.

At the weekend I tend to have more of a brunch meal late morning when I have more time to cook a healthy breakfast, try eggs, bacon & avocado on a slice of sourdough bread for a filling meal that will keep you going until dinner time
