Eating raw eggs can be risky because they might have Salmonella, a harmful bacteria. This bacteria can come from infected hens or even from the eggshell if it’s not clean. If you eat an egg with Salmonella, you could get food poisoning, which can cause nausea, diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. The good thing is, cooking eggs properly kills the bacteria, so they’re safe to eat. And if you really need raw eggs for something, pasteurized ones are a much safer choice.
