Why does meditation send me to sleep? Does it mean that my mind if too tired to cope with it?
It’s common for meditation to induce sleep, especially if you’re feeling mentally or physically fatigued. This can indicate that your mind and body are in need of rest. To combat this, try meditating at different times of the day when you’re more alert, or incorporate shorter sessions to gradually build your practice. Remember, meditation is about creating a routine that supports your well-being, so listen to your body and adjust as needed to develop lasting healthy habits.
Sleepiness isn’t uncommon. It’s part of slowing down in our hectic lives. But with dedicated practice and the best focal point or anchor for YOU, the urge to fall asleep can fade away. Try starting with a 10 minute meditation and add 5 minutes every week. That worked for me.
