When I am watching something in YouTube or Netflix, I find it hard to disconnect at will and spend more time than initially planned. What is the best way in these situations?
To effectively disconnect and unplug from YouTube or Netflix, consider setting a specific viewing limit before you start. Use a timer as a reminder to help you stick to your plan. Establish a ritual, such as a short walk or a relaxation activity, right after your planned viewing time to create a routine that encourages you to disengage. Reflect on how you feel after disconnecting; this awareness can strengthen your resolve to limit screen time in the future.
Plan for it and then give yourself a timer. And maybe be ridiculously generous with it to begin with. Assess and tweak as you go.
put away your device, turn you ringer off, and turn it over so it can’t distract you.
