What do you find useful to help with presence in meditation when you are physically compromised, particularly with pain?

Sit in a position that causes you minimal pain, you don’t have to sit cross legged with your back straight to meditate, you can lay down if that helps. The other thing is acceptance – let yourself feel the pain without trying to change/reduce it. Let the pain drift through your awareness the same way you would a thought or feeling. Don’t concentrate on it, don’t identify with it, simply let it be there.
