Depends partially on what the pain was caused by:
If it is general pain, all over body, not caused by a known chronic illness (therefore caused by overexertion, inadequate nutrition and/or hydration) then I usually make a point of eating well, hydrating, doing some low-intensity full body movement, and if the pain is caused by stress some stretching and/or relaxation techniques (breathing exercises, Power Nap, meditation).
If it is localized pain in a specific spot (ex. Ankle muscles or knee muscles) I do all of the above except the movement if it is an injury and add the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) as you would for an injury.
If the pain is related to a chronic illness then do the treatments related to the illness as prescribed or instructed by your doctor.
