Things like reading, drawing or journaling are great things to do to help you wind down. Being on your devices will only make it harder for you to sleep.
I usually read my Bible but if you're not religious then I suggest reading a calming book it'll help you wind down and slow your thought process. Reading always helps me it makes me sort of tired but you can get a good story out of it as well as trying to fall asleep. I say avoid using technology at least an hour before bed technology can be very distracting when trying to fall asleep. Maybe drink a warm glass of tea or coffee that'll get me really tired.
