Usually, I cannot read without listening to music while reading a book, but I also get distracted when I listen to music, what should I do?
It’s common to struggle with distractions while trying to read. To create a more focused reading ritual, consider experimenting with instrumental music or nature sounds, which can enhance concentration without the distraction of lyrics. Alternatively, set specific reading times where you disconnect from music entirely to build a habit of focused reading. Gradually, you may find a balance that works for you, allowing you to enjoy your reading while minimizing distractions.
I opt for ambient music at a low volume. It gives the mind the itch it craves while also not being nearly distracting. I find listening to music with words is difficult while reading. Try to match the ambiance with the book you’re reading! Like if it’s a murder mystery, pick an eery playlist with mystique. Or maybe try lo-fi! I know Spotify is full of ambient playlists or playlists purely based off vibes (and I’m sure other platforms are just as good!)
