So, how can I avoid postponing sleep when I have many tasks to finish?

To avoid postponing sleep due to unfinished tasks, prioritize your to-do list and set a specific time for winding down. Create a nightly ritual that signals it’s time to sleep, such as reading or meditating. Consider using time management techniques like the Pomodoro technique to enhance productivity during the day, allowing you to finish tasks earlier. Remember, consistent sleep is vital for overall health and helps you perform better the next day, so make it a priority in your routine.

The easy answer is to do the tasks earlier. I sort of have a rhythm now with my work so I know it is hard to do tasks earlier. So I set up one rule: I drop everything at 9:30pm. I turn off all the lights, close my blinds and lay in bed either reading or talking to my friend on the phone. Now I end up falling asleep on time if not early and I get tired at roughly half 9 each night! If I have to persist though then I do short tasks until 10pm so I still have half an hour to fall asleep. So in summary, try and finish tasks earlier but if you can’t then create a wind down time that is a non negotiable.
