My gums tend to bleed easily when I floss. Is there a technique to avoid this?

Bleeding gums is a sign that there is a buildup of bacteria in your gums causing inflammation. Due to poor dental hygiene, your gums may start to bleed because of this. However, as you continue to floss, your gums should start to bleed less and less. When I first started flossing, my gums were bleeding a lot but now they don't bleed at all. If you keep flossing, there will be less inflammation of your gums which will minimize how much it bleeds.
