I use an app on my phone to help guide me through meditation. How can I minimise the likelihood that I’ll get distracted by everything else on my phone?

I have the same app that guides me through my meditation. What i do is i just let it go through, so if a call has been there i will pick it up, if there is a message i will quickly check it and continue my meditation or i start again if i want to. Usually the app mutes other notifications you can turn on “do not disturb” if you want or you can turn on the silent mode of your phone to minimize the likelihood.

Try putting your phone in airplane mode. You won’t receive any phone calls or texts unless Wi-Fi calling is enabled. And mobil internet is also disabled, so you won’t be tempted to doom scroll. 😉

There are many ways you can reduce your distraction. For example, turning notifications off, turning do not disturb on, downloading applications to reduce distractions, or even turning your phone off. If you still want to have your phone on and apps available and then you want reduce distractions, this is a case where you can go to settings for each app to toggle the notifications.

It depends on the individual but I would suggest placing screen time limits on your phone , setting specific times for meditation and shutting off your phone .
