I find that keeping a fixed time daily and a fixed duration helps me in keeping my meditation schedule. I always like to begin the day with meditation after breakfast as hunger pangs might distract you. And the more chaotic I feel inside, it’s a reminder to me to go back to my yoga mat to meditate more, even if for 5 minutes. Tranquility inside of you radiates to everyone you come across and the tasks ahead in the day. To answer your question, about falling asleep during meditation. It’s normal when you begin your practice , but if you clear your mind and focus, you will eventually gain discipline over time. I use meditation music with the frequency I need for that day, based on how I am feeling at that moment. Also best to do in the morning as opposed to close to bedtime as you will fall asleep, and that’s because you are tired. Do not beat yourself up about it.
