How do you train your brain to not want to look at your phone as soon as you wake up

To train your brain to resist the urge to look at your phone upon waking, establish a morning ritual that promotes mindfulness. Start by placing your phone out of reach before bed. Upon waking, engage in activities like stretching, journaling, or meditation for 10-15 minutes. This practice helps create a positive routine that shifts your focus away from your phone. Gradually, your brain will associate mornings with these healthier habits rather than screen time, allowing for a more intentional start to your day.

I complete my nightly routine downstairs and never bring my phone into my bedroom. Making it literally impossible to check it first thing in the morning. I use a physical alarm clock and an echo dot for alarms so I’m not fully disconnected but I can’t get distracted with my phone so I’m able to get a better sleep. Good night!
