How do you manage using your phone as a morning alarm from another room without waking other family members?

I keep my phone in my room, since I'm on call for work, so it's not ideal to have it in another room. I do however make sure my wifi and mobile data signals are switched off so that no unnecessary communications come through. I also turn my phone around, so that the always on display can't bother me.
