Can you talk about how you transitioned from a guided meditation (I often use the calm app) to meditation without guidance?

It simple, after doing many guided ones I remember one important thing; let the incoming thought drift away from you. But I also learned from outside information, that meditation is not a one way process, there are many different types. So just make it your own way. But most importantly I realized the reason why I used guided meditation; it was because I was scared of being alone with my own mind. To take this fear way remember that you are not your thought and your thoughts are not real.
