Have a regular place to meditate. Sit comfortably including adjusting the cushions, opening or closing a window, loosening your shoes or anything that makes it comfortable to sit there for 20 minutes. Let your mind sit in silence for 30 seconds before you start your technique. I HIGHLY recommend Transendental Meditation as your vehicle for meditation. It is worth the money (and it half off until Nov). Then just let it happen.
