I’m not sure what habit you’re on, my guess is the water drinking one. Regardless, this habit is so you can begin to build a foundation of good habits and routines that set your day up for success. Starting your day with water helps curb your appetite and hydrate you, Especially if you sweat at night like my husband does. Grooming gets you aware of how you present yourself to the world and take care of your hygiene so you can attract others and present your best self. Brushing and flossing help keep your mouth healthy and your breath fresh. Each of the habits you pick, which you do pick after the first one, will help you shape your day and your future. C3

In fact, you don't HAVE TO do anything. In fact, if you can't find a reason why you would like to have this new habit, then just don't! But if you still somehow insist on creating this new habit, then I think it's best to find intrinsic motivation (why do I WANT to have this habit). Then go for it and when in doubt remind yourself about your why. It can be helpful to make a list of reasons why, and try to add the new reasons that you'll often find during the process of creating a new habit. It can be very motivating to check this list😄
