Is there a certain way to do it? I’m still new to meditation and I wing it every time. I kinda just talk to myself and say my inner thoughts/goals/problems out loud

It's perfectly fine to talk to yourself. This may be your way of letting go and destressing. Talking to yourself is also a way of realising that small things don't control you. When you speak you are ignoring all of the bad thoughts that you have and replacing them with positive thoughts :D.
