If I want to gain muscle mass, what’s the best way to do it?

When I wanted to build muscle mass I found that I just had to focus on 3 things: eating enough protein, sleeping well and performing high intensity exercises like lifting weights. When I lacked eating I was feeling weak and couldn't perform, when I was lacking sleep I couldn't really focus on the exercise and felt sleepy all the time. When I had to stop exercising because of an injury I noticed that I lost much less strength in a month compared to the lack of strength and focus that food or sleep depravation gave me. A good routine for building muscle as a beginner is doing 3 workout sessions a week where you target all the muscle groups and you try to preform at least one set to failure (it might help aim for 4 sets of 8 repetitions, the last one is gonna be close to failure) per muscle group. In the next session you start with the same weights you did in the previous one and if you feel like you could do more add weight. It might help to write down your progress.
