I like to read books on my iPad before bed. Does this count? I’m wondering if I should get a Kindle or if the night screen on the iPad is ok… or if I should avoid all screens altogether?

Reading before bed can be a great way to unwind, but the type of screen matters. iPads emit blue light, which can disrupt sleep patterns. A Kindle, especially a model with e-ink technology, is easier on the eyes and mimics the feel of reading a physical book. If you prefer your iPad, consider using blue light filters or night mode. Ultimately, the goal is to create a relaxing bedtime ritual that helps you disconnect and unplug from daily stressors, promoting better sleep and healthier habits.

To be honest, I think using any sort of device for reading should be okay before sleep as long as you have a blue light filter. Obviously a kindle would be 10 times better, but not everybody is willing to invest in this kind of device, so do whatever feels good to you. If overtime you feel negative effects and insomnia because of reading on your devices, switch to a kindle or a paper book.
