Yes it does especially if you have just started the workout I believe is slow but steady progress and giving the body momentum but be consistent

I suppose it does but it depends on what you intend to achieve in terms of your body and mind.

For instance, if you're still starting out or getting back into exercising, then slow and steady is always best to get your mind into the habit of moving your body. It is also a plus because it will not feel like a daunting task but more like a natural activity you can incorporate into your routine.

If you are quite experienced with gym, then you can use the 8 minute walk as active rest because your workout cannot always be intense since the body does need time to recover.
