Do you still write if you don’t feel like it?

Gerard E.
My journaling habits are not perfect or even good, but a podcast I have been listening to recently has taught me that consistency is better than perfection. When I don’t feel like writing about my day or my feelings, I just write the date and maybe the quote of the day. That is it. Just a 1 minute sentence. That’s not failure. It’s not perfection, but it is not failure. I’m not perfect and neither are you. Consistency and habits are more important than perfection and when I’m ready I’ll pick up journaling again. It may be the next day or the next week or the next year. It doesn’t matter. Maybe if you are asking this question, an intentional break is what you need so you don’t burn out and give up when all you need is a little bit of grace with yourself. Have a great day.
