I keep thinking bad thoughts during exercise, like oh god this is so tiring, I can’t do it, I’m in such a bad shape. What should I keep thinking during?

I should be thinking that I’m lucky to be able to walk, I am luckier than some of the ladies and the nursing home. I should be thinking that each step is a step into my new life.

When I’m not feeling excited about working out, or feel tired during exercise, just tell myself that I’m awesome for simply showing up and doing something, and not giving up completely. Doing some exercise is better than none. And just showing up regularly is more important than how hard you’re exercising. Eventually, over time and repetition, a good habit is formed and you’ll start to see positive results. Hold your head up too – it fosters more positive thinking!
