Journaling is for you. It shouldn’t feel like a chore to cross out on your to-do list. If you’re really trying to make a habit of daily journaling, then I’d say yes, because you’re going through the act, and consistency is important for making something a habit. It’s a practice, so even writing down, “Crazy day, too tired to write!” is another day of making a habit. But if you’re journaling for personal growth or spirtual practice, then why force yourself to write something down if there’s nothing to say? This is such a personal practice — we shouldn’t worry it whether it “counts” or not. Counts to who? It’s only for you.
