I never really disconnect- I have something going until I turn off the lights, and even then, I have sleep music on. The truth is, I delay bedtime because I’m a night person. I feel better when I get to bed earlier, but for some reason, I resist shutting things off. How do other night owls structure their bedtime? How do you make the transitions from one activity easier and minimize temptation to do more?

I often struggle with the same thing. One thing that works for me is to connect my sleeping routine with other activities that happen earlier. For instance, if I come from home at 7, maybe that’s a good moment to start a routine to go to sleep, it can be long tho (maybe 1. 5 hr for cooking and dinner, 1hr to fish and take shower, time to read, etc)… The point is that going to sleep becomes the natural next step after finishing something, and if that finishes earlier, you would go to also early

I set a time deadline for when I need to stop working and also created a nightly exercise routine where I do yoga for 20 minutes. This really helps me move away from work and prepare for bed.
